SHARING SPACE COMMITMENT
GATHER UP is committed to being part of and encouraging dialogue, active listening, cooperation, sharing, solidarity and empathy in the delivery of all aspects of our work and in our interactions with those who engage with our activity. We hope to contribute to the development and sharing of dance practices in a healthy, inclusive and accessible way.
The GATHER UP team strives to deliver a programme which provides welcoming spaces both online and in-person. The artists and collaborators that we are working with will endeavour to honour this commitment too.
We want to say that regardless of race, class, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age and national status, you are always welcome.
In our Morning classes, Workshops and Open Practice sessions, with the Library of People as with other gatherings, we aim to make room for you to take part as you need to, adapt as you need to, give space to what you need.
We are fully committed to being attentive, to examine what we think we know, to stay curious and to move with openness and kindness in holding those spaces. We anticipate that we will make mistakes and we will endeavour to learn as we do.
We ask everyone to be careful in respecting each other's choice of name and pronouns, and to be aware that our identities are growing and can change in time.
We ask everyone to look out for the needs of others and to respect each other and our differences.
We will continue to interrogate how we can improve accessibility and inclusivity, and welcome any suggestions of how we could support your needs. Please be in touch if you would like to chat about an experience, have any feedback or suggestions - info.gatherup@gmail.com
