Deepraj Singh
From after-school capoeira at age 8, to dancing with youth dance company Kinesis and more dancing at Cotham School here in Bristol, Deepraj continued his training, first through Swindon Dance’s CAT scheme and then at London Contemporary Dance School. Awarded a Duke of York scholarship while at London Contemporary Dance School, he graduated with a first in July 2015.
Since graduating, Deepraj has pursued a freelancing career, notably recently touring internationally with the Akademi’s ‘The Troth’.
His choreographic work, driven by an interest in exploring rhythmical possibilities and emotive resonance, draws on urban dance techniques, beatboxing and vocal percussion.

Hear and discuss ideas at the early stage of conception or during a process.
Be a sounding board.
Be in the studio, as an outside-eye and/or to move along and explore ideas.
