GATHER UP Newsletter: The it's-nearly-Spring edition, March 2024
Hey there!
We hope you are very well and enjoying the sunshine finally visiting us this week. Those blue skies have been a loooooong time coming, right?!
Please read on for all our nearly-Springtime GATHER UP news!
First of all, the deadline is fast approaching for our current Response Pot call out. The Response Pot offers micro-bursaries of £750 to Bristol-based artists working with contemporary dance practices. There will be two recipients in this round. Here is more information on how to apply and the selection process. Send us your application by 15 March, 5pm! And many apologies to those of you who may have spotted a puzzling date on our website or on the Response Pot form! We forgot an update there... We will be in touch with all applicants by Thursday 28 March 2024, not 3rd November 2023!
SAVE THE DATE Alert! The wondrous Annie Pui Ling Lok will be visiting to lead a workshop on Saturday 27 April, 11.30am - 5pm at Bristol Old Vic. More details available very soon on our website and socials.
It’s been lovely to see so many of you at our Monday morning classes. Next week we look forward to welcoming Kip Johnson to lead his first of three classes for us, and we have a wonderful line up to follow after the Easter break with Libby Ward, Nina Santes and Linzy Na Nakorn all booked to lead class. Take a look at Kip’s class info and book your spot! Other classes will soon be advertised and open for booking on Headfirst. Watch this space!
Speaking of morning classes, we are offering 10 free classes to two dance graduates. This is on a first-come-first-serve basis. Email us if you are interested and are a new graduate (2023) or about to graduate (2024). Please let us know when and where you have graduated or will graduate from. The offer will be valid from now until June 2025.
We also want to make sure all of you know about our Care Pot. It exists to support anyone who faces financial barriers in accessing our programme of activity. This could include, but is not limited to access costs, travel (including taxis), parking, childcare. Don’t hesitate to be in touch.
Last but not least, and as always, big thanks to all of you who joined in the dancing, and to all who support this dancing in all the different ways.
All for now.
Over and out, and into that sunshine for a boost of Vitamin D!
Go well, everyone. And see you soon.
Laïla, Kit and Laura
