About Crystal
Crystal Zillwood trained at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance achieving a BPA Hons in contemporary dance (majoring in movement studies). After graduating with Distinction, Crystal has worked with a multitude of choreographers and companies including; Liz Roche, New Art Club, Ben Wright, Gary Clarke, Theo Clinkard and Stephanie Singer where she is part of the ‘Bittersuite’ project. During this time she has also been developing her teaching practice and leading dance workshops at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance ,The Place and Galway Dance.

Crystal’s main fascination and love of movement is exploring the potential within our bodies to surprise us. This class with take influences from gaga, yoga and delving into somatic body work inspired by release technique. We will focus on bringing out attention back to our bodies to explore finding new ways of moving to then push the energy into a highly engaged way of moving, from a place of peaceful power. The class will be a mixture of improvisation and some set material. Crystal aims to invite a sense of safety to go within as well as encourage a playful approach to exploring the potential within our bodies.
