Kit Hall

Kit is a dancer, choreographer and independent producer based in Bristol.

Through improvisation, sensory work and choreographic scores, their dancing is currently curious with the material of the body, attention, gesture, care, presence, imagination, the action of hope and community building. Kit has been creating choreographic works that explore connections between the movements of people in different forms of live performance, workshops and writing.

Kit has worked as a dance performer with various choreographers including Jo Fong, Linzy Nanakorn, Jo Bannon, Priya Mistry and Rosemary Lee.

Kit’s producing work is focused on taking care of the wellbeing of independent artists and their art. They like to help new art emerge and to create memorable experiences that invite people to explore movement, connections and community. This support can take different shapes such as working as an artistic companion, concept development, amplifier across networks, strategic planning, fundraiser, project management, a practical helping hand….Recently Kit has been working alongside Ania Varez, Lisa May Thomas, Hannah Sullivan, Raquel Meseguer and Rachael Clerke in various performance making, fundraising, touring and research engagement projects.

At the beginning of 2021, Kit began living as a Community Builder volunteer at Hope Rise, a new zero-carbon eco-social housing project, specifically for 18-25yrs in Bristol. She was a recipient of the 2019 fellowship with Action Hero, and is a member of INTERVAL, an artist-led support network in Bristol.
